沈，字元节，号吾。万历四十一年（1613年）癸丑科进士，曾边事辽东，与袁崇焕、孙元化同事，官至兵部主事、宣府巡抚。清兵入宣府，沈棨与中官王坤等遣使议和，馈金帛牢，清兵于是退去。有女嫁与富户屠熙之子屠尧。
