元至元十四年(1277)升池州为池州路，治贵池区县（安徽池州市贵池区）领县六：贵池、青阳县、东至县、铜陵市、石、东流镇，隶属江浙行中书省。至正二十一年八月庚寅（1361.9.11）改为九华府，寻改名池州府。
