清·姚燮《今乐考证·乐器》：“板琴，乱弹用之。 ”清代，“乱弹”为梆子戏别称，代表剧种为秦腔，以板胡（梆胡）为主奏乐器。后南方一些如绍兴市“乱弹”，“婺剧乱弹”，亦以竹筒板胡为主奏。
